Table Tennis Training Camp: SWSC Hosts Azerbaijan’s Karabakh NN

As part of its preparation program during the final quarter of 2025, Sharjah Women’s Sports Club organized a table tennis training camp, hosting Karabakh NN club from Azerbaijan, a team that includes several players from the Azerbaijani national team. The 10-day camp was held from 15 to 25 December at the Sharjah Women’s Sports Olympic Center.

The camp was conducted within a framework of technical collaboration and knowledge exchange, featuring intensive daily training sessions designed to elevate both the technical and physical performance of the players. It also provided valuable exposure to different playing styles, contributing positively to the athletes’ overall readiness for upcoming competitions—most notably the Arab Women Sports Tournament, scheduled to take place in Sharjah next February.

The training program focused on refining technical precision, enhancing physical fitness, and developing tactical awareness and game strategies, while also strengthening team cohesion and collective performance. This integrated approach aligns with the club’s competitive objectives and long-term athlete development pathway.

Commenting on the camp, SWSC coach Liu Ying described it as a key milestone in the preparation process, noting that joint training with an international team helped improve reaction speed, execution accuracy, and adaptability to diverse playing styles. She added that the players’ commitment and discipline throughout the camp reflected a high level of technical and mental readiness.

This initiative reflects the broader approach of Sharjah Women’s Sports in supporting its clubs’ individual sports teams, through the provision of high-quality training environments that foster athlete development, strengthen competitive presence, and reinforce Sharjah Women’s Sports Club’s position across local and regional competitions, in preparation for forthcoming championships.
