SWSC Maintains Its Strong Presence in the Second Round of the UAE Rowing League
The Fujairah International Marine Sports Club hosted the second round of the UAE Rowing League, featuring fierce competition between Sharjah Women’s Sports Club (SWSC), Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, and Dubai Police Club. The teams navigated a 780-meter racecourse, testing their endurance and technical rowing skills in an intense battle for championship titles.
SWSC athletes once again delivered an outstanding performance, securing multiple medals across various categories. In the Women’s Quadruple Sculls, the crew of Bouchra Kadri, Hamda Kadri, Fatma Khalaf, and Shamsa Al Sharyani executed a flawless race, clinching the gold medal in a performance that showcased their synchronization and physical strength.
Podium Success Across Multiple Categories
In the Women’s Double Sculls, Fatma Khalaf and Shamsa Al Sharyani delivered a strong performance to claim silver, while Bouchra Kadri and Hamda Kadri secured the bronze medal in the same category, highlighting the depth and versatility of the team.
The club also made a significant impact in the Women’s Single Sculls, where Fatma Khalaf demonstrated impressive technique and endurance to secure silver, while Hamda Kadri fought hard to claim bronze, reinforcing SWSC’s presence in individual rowing events.
In the Under-19 Single Sculls, Shamsa Al Sharyani continued her stellar form, powering through the competition to win gold, while Fatma Khalaf took silver, and Shouq Al Mansouri completed the podium with a bronze medal. Their success highlights the emergence of a new generation of talented rowers within the club.
Coach’s Reflections: A Testament to Hard Work and Progress
Following the event, Sarah Baya Jenan, head coach of the SWSC rowing team, praised her athletes' performance, stating: "What we witnessed today reflects the tremendous effort these rowers put into their training. The increased race distance to 780 meters posed a greater challenge, but the team displayed remarkable mental resilience and endurance, enabling them to compete fiercely to the finish line. We are proud of these achievements, but what matters most is the continuous improvement we see in every round. Our goal is not just to win titles but to build a team capable of competing at all local and international championships. We firmly believe the best is yet to come."
