Voices from the Tatami
Lucy Djadane, Judo Coach at Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, expressed her pride, saying:
"Four of our athletes competed in the Abu Dhabi International Judo Championship and delivered an excellent performance. They showed great commitment and technical maturity. Hour Waleed Ali Al Shamsi impressed with two consecutive victories by ippon, underlining her promising potential, while Alyazia Humaid Abdullah Al Naqbi displayed strong attacking judo that highlighted her fighting spirit.
This championship offered a valuable first assessment to identify strengths and areas for growth. I am proud of what the athletes achieved and confident that the future holds even greater success. It is an honor to be part of this journey."
From Kalba Women’s Sports Club, Coach Ghania Siassi described the experience as a milestone:
"Our athletes faced strong opponents and earned their place on the podium with merit, reaching most of the finals and securing several medals. What made us proud was not only the results, but also the fighting spirit and the clear improvement in their technical level.
Competing against judokas from different clubs and nationalities added great value, allowing our girls to gain experience that will benefit them in future competitions. This championship is an essential checkpoint for evaluating performance and setting the course ahead. I am confident Kalba’s team can achieve more success, reach higher levels, and represent both the club and the UAE in the best possible way."
