SWSC Claims Three Golds and Two Bronzes at UAE Fencing Federation Championship
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club (SWSC) delivered a standout performance at the UAE Fencing Federation Championship (Senior and U-17 categories), held on March 23–24 at Al Mizhar Sports Club in Dubai, with strong participation from clubs across the country.
Double Gold and Two Bronze Medals in Senior Category
On Sunday, March 23, the club’s athletes shone in the senior category, taking home two gold medals and two bronzes. Maryam Al Daghidi secured the gold medal in sabre after a commanding performance, while Afrodit Ahmad dominated her category to clinch the gold in épée following a series of decisive victories.
In the same category, Zeinab Mousa earned a bronze in foil, and Zeinab Al Hosani secured third place in épée, rounding out a highly successful day for the team.
U-17 Success with Third Gold Medal
On Monday, March 24, the action continued in the U-17 category, where Shamma Humaid Al Suwaidi added a third gold to the club’s tally by winning the sabre event. She demonstrated tactical precision and composure in a tightly contested final, marking another impressive achievement for the team.

Hassan Al-Zouari, Head Coach of the fencing team, praised the performance, stating: “The level of competition in this tournament was extremely high, particularly in épée, which saw intense tactical battles often decided by just one or two points. The quality of play reflects the overall growth of women’s fencing across the UAE. We are proud of our athletes’ performance amidst such competitive pressure and remain committed to preparing the team for future championships with even greater intensity.”
