SWS Clubs Shine at the Mohammed bin Hamad Ramadan Martial Arts Games with 23 Medals
Sharjah Women’s Sports (SWS) Clubs marked a new milestone in taekwondo with an impressive showing at the Mohammed bin Hamad Ramadan Martial Arts Games, held at Sheikh Zayed Sports Complex, Al Fujairah on Saturday, March 22, 2025. The event brought together elite talent from across the UAE, and the participation of 27 athletes representing the Sharjah, Kalba, and Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Clubs resulted in a total of 23 medals—an achievement that reflects the clubs’ technical readiness and continued competitive momentum.
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club led the gold medal count with strong victories from Reem Yousif (under 29 kg), Hind Osama (under 44 kg), Maryam Jassim (under 51 kg), Rania Mohammed Al Nuaimi (under 55 kg), and Shamma Mohammed (under 59 kg). The team also secured three silver medals, won by Mahra Said Al Zaabi (over 59 kg), Azza Osama (under 41 kg), and Hoor Ali Al Zeyoudi (under 33 kg), further highlighting the team’s consistency at the top level.
Kalba Women’s Sports Club also made its mark, with Fatima Saad taking gold in the over 59 kg category. Silver medals were won by Dana Khamis (under 59 kg), Moza Abdulwahid (under 51 kg), and Aljazi Al Khaldi (under 47 kg). Additional bronze medals were earned by Amina Jumaa (under 55 kg), Fatima Ali Al Dhahani (under 37 kg), Reem Khalfan (under 41 kg), Jawaher Ali Al Zeyoudi (under 33 kg), and Fatima Mohammed Al Khadim (under 29 kg), showcasing the team’s wide distribution of talent across divisions.
From Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club, six athletes reached the podium with bronze finishes: Maryam Suhail Al Hindasi (over 59 kg), Hamda Mustafa Al Baloushi (under 59 kg), Fatima Saeed Al Watari (under 51 kg), Rawda Ali Al Kaabi (under 47 kg), Ruqaya Al Sharari (under 41 kg), and Haya Tamam (under 44 kg), affirming the club’s technical preparation and development.
Commenting on the outcome, Abdullah Hatim, Technical Director of Taekwondo, praised the overall performance, highlighting the championship as the result of structured preparation and technical refinement. He noted that the tournament tested the players’ ability to adapt under pressure and validated the effectiveness of the clubs’ long-term training strategies.
This achievement aligns with the broader vision of Sharjah Women’s Sports to nurture champions and elevate the presence of women in sports through an integrated development model. The success in this championship not only confirms the clubs’ strong positioning on the national stage but also reinforces their readiness to compete and excel in future regional and international arenas.
