SWSC Basketball Team Concludes a Perfect Season with Unmatched Dominance
In a season brimming with success, the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club basketball team cemented its status as one of the UAE’s top-performing women’s teams by finishing the 2024–2025 season with a flawless record. The team secured every official and friendly title it competed in, including the UAE League, the UAE Women’s Basketball Cup, and the 3×3 UAE Citizens Cup, proudly raising the club’s flag across every podium and solidifying its growing presence in the national sports scene.
The UAE Women’s Basketball Cup Final, held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, marked the season’s perfect finale. Hosted at the club’s Middle Branch court, the team triumphed over Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy with a commanding 54–38 victory, in front of a lively and supportive crowd.
Consistency and Maturity in Performance
Sharjah’s team displayed consistent dominance throughout the game. They closed the first quarter with a 17–10 lead and extended their advantage in the second, ending the first half at 32–18, thanks to excellent coordination and control over rebounds. Although their opponents attempted a comeback in the third quarter, Sharjah maintained composure and closed out the match with a comfortable 16-point win.
A notable feature of the final was the strategic inclusion of U-18 players, offering rising talents an opportunity to integrate with the senior squad as part of the club’s long-term plan to nurture the next generation of athletes.
A Unified Technical and Administrative Vision
Mai Al Amri, Deputy Director of SWSC, expressed her pride in the team’s performance, stating:
“This achievement is the result of a clear strategy set at the start of the season, focused on consistency and building a competitive team capable of representing the club at the highest level.”
Team coach Captain Waleed Al Hajri echoed this sentiment, adding:“This season was exceptional by all standards. The team participated in every official tournament and won them all. Even the high-level friendly competitions ended with victories, which reflects the squad’s technical readiness, confidence, and remarkable discipline throughout the season.”
Building Towards the Arab Women Sports Tournament
These achievements also serve as a critical benchmark for assessing the team’s readiness and strategic plans ahead of their anticipated participation in the 8th edition of the Arab Women Sports Tournament, set to take place in Sharjah - February 2026.
Unified Vision Reflected in Club Branches
This season also highlighted the competitive strength of the East Branch, which previously finished second in the UAE League and added a silver medal in the UAE Citizens 3×3 Cup, underscoring the effectiveness of the Organization’s institution-wide development framework.The Middle Branch also showed notable improvement, putting forth competitive performances and reflecting the tangible development of players through the club’s training programs under the guidance and support of Sharjah Women’s Sports.
