86 Medals of Glory: Sharjah Women’s Sports Clubs Shine on Taekwondo Podiums
Sharjah Women’s Sports clubs — represented by Sharjah Women’s Sports Club (SWSC), Kalba Women’s Sports Club (KWSC), and Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club (KHWSC) — maintained a strong presence in taekwondo throughout the 2024–2025 sports season. With outstanding results in Q2 2025 across the Federation Cup, team championships, and UAE Elite Championship, the season showcased the strength of SWS Clubs’ technical development programs and the rising performance of athletes across all age groups.
Federation Cup: 23 Medals Show Depth of Talent
At the Federation Cup held in April 2025, SWS clubs delivered a standout performance, collecting a total of 23 medals in the juniors and seniors divisions — a reflection of growing tactical and technical excellence.
In the seniors category, SWSC earned two golds (Maysoon Ehab, Jannah Jamal) and three bronzes (Fatima Mousa, Mariam Ibrahim, Rawda Mohamed Sediq). KWSC added three golds (Yasmin Yasser, Montaha Al Fadel, Ameera Sabri), one silver (Maha Rabee), and one bronze (Mai Khamis). KHWSC contributed with a silver from Rowan Ibrahim.
In the juniors category, SWSC secured two golds (Jana Sameer Salam, Mariam Syed Ahmed), one silver (Anne Rozy), and three bronzes (Sheikha Hussein Shareef, Marwa Zuhair Mohamed, Fatima Jamal). KWSC added a gold (Amina Mohamed Al Louqani) and three bronzes (Ghala Yasser Al Kindi, Shareefa Ismail, Fawziya Khaled Sediq). KHWSC also returned with a silver (Meitha Rashid Ahmed) and a bronze (Ruqayya Rashid Al Dhahnani).
UAE Elite Championship: 59 Athletes, Exceptional Results
The UAE Elite Taekwondo Championship, held on April 27, 2025, reaffirmed the technical strength of SWS clubs, featuring 59 athletes across three divisions: cadets, juniors, and seniors.
In the cadets category, SWSC won five golds (Alhan Jassim, Noor Eisa, Ghala Mohamed Saleh, Al Anoud Sultan, Al Anoud Ali Al Teneiji), two silvers (Maryam Hassan Al Dhahoori, Alya Nabil), and three bronzes (Salama Mohamed Al Suwaidi, Faiza Adnan, Al Reem Nawaf).
KWSC earned two golds (Muzna Shuaib, Mahra Waleed), four silvers (Mouza Sultan Al Hammoudi, Mahra Osama, Meitha Nasser, Hoor Aref), and five bronzes (Muzna Omar, Hamda Yousef, Mai Khamis, Ghaya Rashid, Sheikha Abdul Qader).
KHWSC also had a strong showing with a gold (Ghanima Mohamed Al Sharari), a silver (Reem Rashid), and multiple bronzes (Sheikha Ali Al Zeyoudi, Alyaziya Adnan Al Hammadi, Al Reem Aref, Deema Hamed Al Hindasi, Hessa Abdul Qader, Salama Saad, Noura Nabil).
In the juniors category, SWSC stood out with five golds (Salma Najeeb Al Zaabi, Rayan Najeeb Al Zaabi, Ameera Sabri, Fawziya Khaled, Amina Mohamed Al Louqani), one silver (Shareefa Ismail), and two bronzes (Meitha Rashid Al Muhalibi, Aisha Ismail).
KWSC earned three golds (Maryam Ismail, Sheikha Hussein, Ghala Yasser Al Kindi), one silver (Janna Yousef), and four bronzes (Sheikha Mohamed Al Teneiji, Ruqayya Rashid, Alya Ahmed Al Ketbi, Reema Saad).
KHWSC added a silver (Siyouf Hassan) and three bronzes (Fatima Jumaa, Aisha Mohamed Al Khaldi, Dhabiya Mohamed).
In the seniors division, SWSC continued its excellence with two golds (Maha Rabee – 57kg, Yasmin Yasser – 67kg), five silvers (Mai Khamis, Mariam Ibrahim, Fatima Mousa, Sheikha Ahmed Al Marzouqi, Rowan Ibrahim), and one bronze (Mariam Ali Al Zaabi). KWSC added a silver from Renad Saad in the +73kg category.
Team Championships: A Strong Finish to the Season
To close the season, SWS clubs solidified their presence with strong participation in two national team championships held on May 31 and June 1, 2025.
SWSC secured gold medals in both the juniors and seniors categories, and added a silver in the Youth after a series of competitive matches.
KWSC also delivered commendable performances, earning two bronze medals in the juniors and youth divisions — a reflection of consistent technical preparation and fighting spirit.

Abdullah Hatem, Olympic Taekwondo Coach and Technical Director at SWS, stated:“These results are the outcome of intensive effort from both the technical and administrative teams, alongside a high level of commitment from the athletes, both mentally and physically. The improvement in team performance was evident across all competitions, and we look forward to building on this momentum in future championships.”
