SWSC Shines at the UAE Stars Cup for Kata and Kumite
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club once again showcased its growing dominance in national competitions with a standout performance at the UAE Stars Cup for Kata and Kumite (Team Events – Youth and Juniors), held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Sharjah Individual Sports Club – Al Hazanah. The event saw participation from top clubs including Shabab Al Ahli, Fujairah Martial Arts Club, and Sharjah Women’s Sports Club.
The tournament featured fierce team competitions, with Sharjah Women’s Sports Club emerging victorious by claiming the overall championship title in both Kata and Kumite for the Youth category. The club also secured a total of three medals: two gold and one silver.
In the Youth – Team Kata category, athletes Shamma Mohamed, Noor Ahmad Al Ali, Mariam Ahmad Al Ali, and Moza Salem Yaqout delivered a synchronized and technically sound performance that earned them the gold medal, surpassing teams from Shabab Al Ahli and Fujairah.
In the Youth– Team Kumite, the same fighting spirit continued as Shamma Mohamed, Salma Saeed, Mariam Ahmad, Noor Ahmad, and Moza Salem displayed exceptional teamwork and grit to claim another gold medal following a well-deserved victory over Shabab Al Ahli.
In the Juniors – Team Kumite category, athletes Shamma Mohamed, Salma Saeed, Noor Ahmad, Hoor Ahmad, and Hanan Ahmad delivered a powerful performance that earned the team a silver medal, further enriching the club’s record of achievements.
Coach Radwa Arafa, who leads the club’s Kumite team, expressed her pride in the players, stating:
“I’m extremely pleased with the level of performance our athletes showed at the UAE Stars Cup. The competition was intense, but the team handled the pressure with confidence and unity. Their growth from one tournament to the next is clear, and this event marks an important step in our preparation for upcoming major championships. We’ll continue working on enhancing both tactical and physical aspects to meet our goals.”
This successful participation reaffirms Sharjah Women’s Sports Club’s commitment to developing karate among Youth and juniors and strengthening the presence of women in sports through competitive excellence and national titles—on a steady path toward honourable representation for the UAE in regional and international events.
