A Golden Season: SWSC Strengthens Its Leadership in Athletics
Dominating the Nationals with Record-Breaking Performances
At the UAE Nationals Athletics Cup, held at the Dubai Police Officers Club, the club secured 28 medals and claimed team titles in both the Junior and Youth categories after commanding performances that saw their athletes shine in various events.
In the Junior category, standout athlete Sara Fahd claimed double gold in the 200m hurdles and 300m races. She was joined by Rawdha Al Jabri (silver) and Maria Fahd (bronze) in the 200m hurdles. Alya Khalid Saeed won gold in the 80m and silver in the 300m, with Fuwaghi Humaid adding a bronze in the same event. In the jumping events, Samar Saleh won gold in both the long jump and high jump, followed by Reem Yousef who earned silver in the high jump. In the throwing events, Hanan Ibrahim took home two golds in shot put and discus, while Mariam Issa added a bronze in discus. Maitha Jumaa and Ahed Mohammed claimed silver and bronze respectively in shot put, and Alyazia Tariq Jumaa earned a bronze in hammer throw.
In the Youth category, Reem Yousef claimed two golds in the 100m hurdles and 400m, while Khadija Mohammed won bronze in the 100m. Suad Al Jallaf won silver in the high jump and bronze in the long jump, with Nada Nasr also securing bronze. In throwing, Raya Moamen claimed gold in shot put and silver in discus, followed by Mariam Murad with silver in shot and bronze in discus. Alyazia Tariq and Shaikha Fahd Al Mazmi earned bronze in shot put and silver in hammer throw, respectively.
A Powerful Showing in the UAE Athletics Cup
At the UAE Athletics Cup, SWSC athletes delivered outstanding performances, winning 41 medals including 16 golds across Junior, Youth, and Senior categories. In track events, Sara Fahd Abdullah secured gold in the 80m hurdles, followed by Rawdha Al Jabri with silver. Chloe Reilly came second in the 80m sprint, and Alya Khalid Saeed placed third. Sara also earned silver in the 300m, with Fwaghi Humaid taking bronze. Alya Al Muhairi won gold in the 1000m, and Hamda Jassim Ahli earned silver. The 4×200m relay team (Sara, Alya, Alya Khalid, and Chloe) took gold with a seamless team performance. In the same age group, Reem Yousef earned gold in the 100m hurdles, Mahra Al Khazraji secured bronze in the 400m, and Alya Khalid Al Ali claimed silver in the 100m. The medley relay team of Reem, Alya, Mahra, and Suad took bronze.
Among seniors, Fatima Al Baloushi took gold in the 100m, with Abeer Al Baloushi claiming silver. In the 400m, Athari Adel won gold and Mahra Inqilia earned bronze. The 4×100m relay team (Athari, Abeer, Mahra, Fatima) won gold. Fatima capped off her competition with gold and a personal best in the 200m, followed by silver for Athari.
Leaps, Heights, and National Records
In the field events, Reem Mohammed Al Bedwawi shined in the long jump with a gold-winning performance, while Samar Saleh followed closely, securing silver in the same event before soaring to gold in the high jump. Meanwhile, Sheikha Rashid made history in the pole vault, capturing the gold medal and setting a new national record at 2.05 meters—a landmark achievement in Emirati women’s athletics.
In the juniors age group, Suad Al Jallaf added silver in the long jump to her medal haul, demonstrating growing technical skill in jumping events.
Throws and Distances That Make History
In Junior shot put, Hanan Al Suwaidi set a national record with a throw of 10.72 meters, with Maitha Jumaa earning bronze. Alyazia Tariq Al Mashghouni placed third in hammer throw.
In the Youth category, Aseel Osama won gold in shot put, followed by Mariam Murad (silver) and Shaikha Fahd Al Mazmi (bronze) in hammer throw.
In discus, Hanan Al Suwaidi delivered an outstanding performance by breaking another national record multiple times, finishing with 25.19 meters and gold. Mariam Issa earned silver.
In the Youth category, Mariam Murad won silver and Fatima Al Suwaidi bronze. In javelin, Maitha Jumaa took gold in Juniors, followed by Dana Yousef (silver) and Maitha Ahmed (bronze). In Youth, Aseel Osama took another gold, Alyazia Tariq won silver, and Shaikha Fahd took bronze.
Two More Cups to Cap the Season
SWSC ended the season with team titles in both Junior and Senior categories, highlighting its consistent leadership in women’s athletics.

Describing the season as “exceptional,” track and field head coach Hend Al Kabawi emphasized the results as a product of cohesive mental, physical, and tactical preparation. She highlighted the continuous development as proof that success is not just a moment—it’s a journey.
