An Inspiring Partnership Nurturing Champions: Sports Incubators Yield Local and Regional Triumphs
With steady strides and a visionary outlook, Sharjah Women’s Sports continues to shape the future of women’s sports. The Organization’s recent participation in the 2025 Arab Judo Championship, held in Amman, Jordan, marked a pivotal milestone in its institutional synergy with Sharjah Children, a subsidiary of Rubu’ Qarn Organization.
The foundation for this achievement lies in the Sports Incubators Project, a strategic initiative aimed at introducing Olympic sports and embedding sports culture during childhood. This partnership has successfully built a strong talent pipeline—identifying, nurturing, and developing a generation of young female athletes capable of competing at the highest levels. This success was evident in the championship, with the athletes securing 10 individual medals—four gold, four silver, and two bronze—along with the overall team title and medal-based title in the U13 Youth category, and second place in the U11 category.
These results are not momentary successes—they are the result of years of structured, cross-institutional collaboration that provided a holistic training ecosystem. The outcome: promising talents evolving into podium-winning champions. And the Arab Judo Championship was not the only field of excellence. Talented athletes from Sharjah Women’s Sports (SWS) and its clubs, enrolled in the Sports Incubators program, made a strong showing in the UAE Taekwondo Elite Championship in the pre-cadet category.
Gala Mohamed Saleh and Mozna Shoaib each claimed gold medals, while Hoor Aref earned silver. Bronze medals were awarded to Hassa Abdulkader, Shaikha Abdulkader, Faiza Adnan, Hamda Yousef, Noura Nabil, Alyazia Adnan Al Hammadi, and Reem Aref—athletes whose performances clearly reflected the impact of early, structured training.
The depth of the project was further evident in the Kalba Open Judo Championship, where five SWSC athletes— all incubator participants—demonstrated outstanding competitiveness. Hoor Waleed Ali secured gold, and her teammate Amina Yousef earned silver.
In the UAE Judo Cup for Youth, SWSC athletes from the incubators shined again. Hoor Waleed Ali won gold in the U15 category, while silver medals went to Amina Yousef Mohammed Al Mazmi, Alyazia Hamad Abdullah, and Mira Ahmad Ibrahim. A bronze medal was also won by Aisha Ali Hassan.
Commenting on these accomplishments, Her Excellency Hanan Al Mahmoud, Vice Chairperson of Sharjah Women’s Sports, stated:“The vision of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi—Chairperson of Sharjah Women’s Sports and wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah—is rooted in nurturing the youth and aligning institutional efforts to achieve sustainable development goals. What has been accomplished today is a direct outcome of that strategic direction.”
Her Excellency Khawla Al Hawi, Director of Sharjah Children, echoed the sentiment, adding:
“Champion-building begins with aligned efforts. What we’ve witnessed is the result of true synergy between all entities working to empower girls—from childhood all the way to the podium.”
The Sports Incubators Project stands as a successful developmental model supporting women’s sports, offering training tailored to each age group under the guidance of expert coaches. It sets a clear long-term athletic pathway, producing athletes ready to represent the UAE on international stages.
What has been achieved in recent months reaffirms that investing in childhood is the cornerstone of lasting athletic achievement. These incubators are not merely a program—they are a promising national project, shaping dreams and producing future champions through a structured institutional framework that exemplifies excellence in women’s empowerment.
