In a progressive step toward uniting academic and athletic efforts, Sharjah Women’s Sports (SWS) and the University of Kalba signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation across training, research, and education. The signing took place under the gracious patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Kalba.
The MoU was signed by Hanan Mohammed Al Mahmoud, Vice Chairperson of the Organisation, and Professor Dr. Najwa Mohammed Al Hosani, Chancellor of the University of Kalba.
Aligning Academic Specializations with the Needs of Women’s Sports
The agreement paves the way for closer integration between academic learning and sports practice. It includes tailored field training and practical opportunities for students of the College of Sport Sciences, such as visits to the Sharjah Women’s Olympic Center and direct engagement with experts at the Organisation’s Scientific Center for Research and Sports Development.
To ensure effective implementation, a joint working group will be established, composed of representatives and experts from the sports, academic, and administrative fields. The team will oversee the coordination and evaluation of shared programs and initiatives.
