Sharjah Women’s Sports Club Shines in the First Round of the UAE Rowing League
The first round of the UAE Rowing League kicked off at Jumeirah Open Beach in Dubai, organized by the Dubai International Marine Club. The event featured fierce competition among top rowing teams, including Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, and the Abu Dhabi English Club.
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club athletes delivered an exceptional performance, showcasing their technical prowess and physical endurance, a testament to their rigorous training and preparation. Leading the charge were Bouchra Qadri, Hamda Qadri, Fatima Khalaf, and Shamsa Al Sheryani, who secured the gold medal in the Women's Quadruple Sculls (W4x) with outstanding coordination and strength.
In the Women's Double Sculls, the dynamic duo of Bouchra Qadri and Hamda Qadri claimed the silver medal, while their teammates Fatima Khalaf and Shamsa Al Sheryani earned the bronze medal, reflecting the depth of talent within the team.
The momentum continued in the Women's Single Sculls, where Bouchra Qadri dominated the race, clinching the gold medal, followed closely by Hamda Qadri, who took home the silver medal after a remarkable effort.
Sharjah’s rising stars also made their mark in the Junior Women's Double Sculls, with Shouq Al Mansouri and Fatima Khalaf securing the gold medal, and the pair of Bouchra Qadri and Shamsa Al Sheryani finishing strong with a silver medal.
In the Junior Women's Single Sculls, Bouchra Qadri once again showcased her dominance by winning the gold medal, while Fatima Khalaf claimed the silver, and Shamsa Al Sheryani rounded out the podium with a well-earned bronze medal.
All races were held over a 500-meter course, adding an intense, fast-paced dynamic that tested the athletes' focus, technique, and stamina under pressure. The strong presence and stellar performances of Sharjah’s athletes highlighted a promising future for the club, with a new generation of rowers ready to achieve even greater success.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, Sara Baya Jennan, Head Coach of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club rowing team, said:
